A game between two rival Los Angeles high school football teams ended tragically after one of the cheerleaders collapsed on the sideline and died. Angela Gettis was a top student and a member of the Reserve Officer Training Corp. She planned to go to college to study forensic science.
The student appears to have died from sudden cardiac arrest. She attended Washington Prep High School, and was a good student and campus leader.
Superintendent John Deasy said that Gettis was a “wonderful young lady.”
“It is a catastrophic loss for the school and for the community. My heart goes out to her family,” he said.
Play on the field was stopped when the girl collapsed, as coaches and trainers rushed to help her. Those standing by performed CPR on her and revived her briefly. She died three hours later and an autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.

This is so sad to read. Just awful. A sudden death out of nowhere. The young lady had so much potential and promise. There's no words to express this kind of tragedy.
GOD called her home.
