Bowie State Student Accused of Stabbing Roommate To Death

A 19-year old student at Bowie State University has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of another student, Dominique Frazier.  The student is being held at the Prince County Detention Center without bond.  She turned herself in to police after midnight after leaving campus when the assault took place.

Frazier, an 18-year old student from Washington, DC, was stabbed Thursday at 8 pm in the Christa McAuliffe Residential Community on campus.  The school has canceled all Friday classes while the investigation is taking place.

The two students were roommates and police have obtained a warrant to search the residence.  Police do not know what the victim was stabbed with and are also looking into rumors that the student was stabbed in an argument over an iPod.

Police say that the argument escalated into a fight where Frazier was stabbed in the neck.

“I heard a bunch of girls screaming, I walked out into the hallway, went to the left, and I saw this girl, she was sitting on the floor, she was (covered) in blood,” said Donovan Settles, who was visiting her friends at the school.  She said that the girl's entire left side was covered with blood.

Police found Frazier in the hall, unconscious and bleeding badly.  She was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead by 9 pm.  that night.

"This kind of senseless violence is difficult to understand," the university said in a statement. The school says grief counselors will be on hand to be of assistance to students and staff.

Maybe if we were in control of our resources this kind of insanity wouldn't be happening! We, as a ppl, need to take a serious look at our high level of dependency in this part of the world because it's having a detrimental effect on our psyche!

Mmmn...I dont get the connection about being in control of our resources. But, I do think people need to learn conflict resolution skills and stop resorting to violence as a way to resolve disputes.

What that young girl did was indefensible and she should receive the maximum penalty possible.

We all have been in situations where our emotions have gotten out of control (Lord knows I have). So, you can understand what its like to be enraged. But, we have to learn that violence is not an option.
